Worked much for the Assistant Masters' Association, of which he was at one time Chairman; President of the Independent School Association, 1927. M.P. for Windsor, 1922-42. K.B.E., 1939. Married, Sept. 1886, Ethel Elizabeth, eldest dau. of William Orange, M.D. Author and editor of various French text-books. Died May 15, 1942, at Wimbledon.
