Collated and edited for the Society the Aethiopic texts of the New Testament. Edited the Syriac Gospels, 1829; and an Amharic version of the Bible, 1844. One of the earliest members of the Royal Asiatic Society; for many years one of its Oriental translations committee. F.S.A., 1839. Resided at Child's Hill, Hampstead.
