Jan. 21, 1814, in Westminster.] Organist at St John-the-Baptist, Croydon, 1831-3. Adm. pens. at Corpus Christi, May 5, 1834. Matric. Michs. 1834. Migrated to Jesus, Dec. 30, 1834; B.A. 1838. Adm. a member of Trinity, May 2, 1838; M.A. 1841; Mus. Doc., 1848. His music for the Ode on the installation of Prince Albert as Chancellor attracted general admiration. Composer of several anthems and services, most of which were published after his death, being edited by his father, who survived him. Died Jan. 17, 1856, at Hastings; buried at Fairlight.
