Oct. 6, 1789.] Had succeeded as 5th Bart., June 3, 1800, his father having shot himself 'after ill luck at play.' Of Battle Abbey, Sussex . M.P. for Sussex , 1812-20.
Married, Aug. 22, 1814, Charlotte, eldest dau. of Robert Adamson, of Co. Westmeath , and had issue. 'His mode of life was characterized by very great expense and extravagance, which at length drove him into retirement.' Died July 17, 1836, in London .
