Vice-Chancellor, 1814-15 and 1830-1. Assistant Master at Eton, 1801-9; Lower Master, 1809-14. Chaplain-in-Ordinary to King George III and the three succeeding sovereigns. Married (1) Nov. 19, 1803, Miss - Carbonell; (2) 1816, Mary Ann, eldest dau. of Alexander Cottin, of Cheverells, Hertfordshire , and had issue. Devoted much of his time to collecting rare books.
