Michs. 1825; Scholar, 1825; B.A. 1829; M.A. 1834. Entered the Church of Rome, at Norwich, 1842. Dramatist and writer Created a Knight of St Gregory, 1842. Resided in London, 1850-87. Contributed to various magazines of the day. Author, Letters from the Danube; Life of Weber; and of four novels. Produced over 60 dramatic pieces, including 'A scrap of paper' and 'Lady Dedlock's secret.' Secretary of Dramatic Authors' Society, 1868-87. Died Aug. 19, 1887, in Alfred Place West, S.
