Richard MARTYN Approx. lifespan: 13841580 Updated from Venn I Bp of S. Davids 1482-83 Has been identified with 'Dr Martyn' who incepted as D.Cn.L. 1481-82, and who, with other resident doctors, received permission to be regent or non-regent at pleasure 1482-83 [CUGBk Α, 163, 173; Cooper, i. 521] but his known preoccupations in public affairs during those years seem to render this identification most unlikely; moreover, his academic antecedents prior to this were in Oxford [BRUO, ii. 1236] |
