At the time when he was a Special Pleader, before his call to the Bar, on being asked what his politics were, he gave the famous reply: 'My politics are the politics of a Special Pleader.' Edited, for the Roxburghe Club, Skelton's Magnyfycence, an Interlude, 1821, and Vox Populi, Vox Dei, a complaint of the Commons against taxes, 1842. Married, Feb. 26, 1821, Hannah Timberlake, and had issue. Died June 26, 1842, at his house in Bedford Square, London. Bequeathed £1000 to St John's College, of which £200 was for the library.
