Previously a schoolmaster at Glasgow and Liverpool. Second Master, Bristol
Grammar School, 1852-5; Head Master, 1855-60. Head Master of Manilla Hall,
Clifton, 1861-81, which he founded because he was disappointed at not securing
the headship of the newly established Clifton College. A born naturalist who
discovered many new species of Rotifera. Excelled in music and drawing.

Tibbits, Esq., of Braunston, Northants.; (2) June 24, 1858, Louisa Maria Foot,
