Suffered from ill-health and was thus prevented from accepting any of the livings offered to him. A good Hebrew scholar. Took part in the Colenso controversy. Married, July 17, 1834, Araminta Anne, dau. of Lieut.-Gen. Sir John Hamilton, Bart., and had [p.391] issue.
