world, and enlarged the museum and herbarium collections begun there by Sir
Thomas Hanbury. The initial arrangements for an extensive system of exchanges
of student gardeners between Kew and botanical gardens all over the world were
greatly due to him. Died June 10, 1937, in London. Brother of the next and of
