Samuel Christian, of Malta, and widow of J. Hunter, and had issue. Lord of the
manor and patron of Dumbleton, Gloucs. J.P. and D.L. for Gloucester and
Worcester. High Sheriff of Worcs., 1842. M.P. for East Worcs., 1835-7; for
Evesham, 1855-68. Took a great interest in agriculture, and prominently
associated with the establishment of the Royal Agricultural College at
Cirencester. President of the Royal Agricultural Society. Died Jan. 4, 1875,
aged 70. Father of Edward T. (1854) and Frederick W. (1856); brother of George
