laws of heredity, 1865, becoming founder of the School of 'Eugenics'. A by-
product of these
investigations was the discovery of the importance, for purposes of
identification, of
finger-prints. Initiated an anthropometric laboratory at the International
Health Exhibition,
1884-5. Founded the Eugenic Laboratory, 1904, and the quarterly journal,
Biometrika, 1901.
