Residence on his father's estate at Balsham, Cambs. enabled him to manage the College property effectively. Travelled much in Europe and became a good linguist. Editor of, and contributor to, The Journal of the Royal Agricultural Society, 1862-8. Of Dun Gate, Balsham, Cambs., and of Paston House, Cambridge, which latter he built, 1855-6, with the proceeds of the sale of the Paston Letters, which his father had edited. In orders but unbeneficed. Married, Aug. 2, 1859, Emily, dau. of Henry Gipps, Canon of Carlisle. Died May 12, 1868, at Paston House, Cambridge. Buried at Balsham. Father of Arthur H.
