Married (1) Dec. 16, 1799, Frances, dau. of General John Cadwallader, of Philadelphia, U.S.A., the companion of Washington and one of the leaders of the American Revolution, and had issue; (2) July 29, 1843, Ann Bond, dau. of John Travis; and (3) Dec. 21, 1852, Anna, widow of Thomas Calderwood Durham, of Largo, Co. Fife and dau. of William Cunningham-Graham, of Gartmore, Co. Peebles. Died Mar. 19, 1855, aged 79. Brother of Henry D. (1806) and Thomas (1808).
