Lived for a time at Nazing, Essex ; and, as assistant at Mr Thos. Hooker's school at Little Baddon [ Essex ], 1629 . Went to Holland , 1630 ; and to New England [cu] USA [/cu], 1631 . Minister at Boston [ Massachusetts ] [ USA ], 1631 ; and at Roxburgh, Massachusetts [cu] USA [/cu]., 1632-90 . Best known for his labours amongst the Indians, and his translation of the Scriptures into the language of the Massachusett Indians. Died 20 May, 1690. ( D.N.B. ; J. G.
