P.C. of Christ Church, St Pancras, 1837-51. His faith was badly shaken by the judgment in the Gorham case and he resigned his cure and joined the R.C. church. Married Elizabeth, sister of Lord Churston. Author, Discourses on the Lord's Supper, 1835, and other theological works; Clarendon, a tale, 1850, etc. Died Dec. 10, 1861, at York Terrace, Regent's Park, London.
