Superintendent of the Museum of Zoology, 1866-91. President of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society, 1883-4. F.S.A., 1887. Registrary of the University, 1891-1910. Rede Lecturer, 1894. Completed, and in part re-wrote, Professor Willis's unfinished work on the Architectural History of the University and Colleges of Cambridge. Published a number of books and papers dealing with all sides of Cambridge life. An enthusiastic student of English and French drama, and a supporter of the Cambridge Amateur Dramatic Club (A.D.C.). Took a large part in the production of Greek plays at Cambridge. Author, Concise Guide to Cambridge; Barnwell Priory (documents); The Care of Books, etc.; joint author, with Professor T. McKenny Hughes, of the Life of Professor Sedgwick. Bequeathed his collections of books on Cambridge to the University Library. Died Oct. 1, 1910, at Scroope House, Cambridge. Father of William H.
