Feb. 1738-9. Of Jamaica. S. of Colonel Bathurst, West
Indian planter. Matric. 1739; Scholar, 1740; M.B. 1745.
Physician to the Middlesex Hospital, 1754, but decided to
return to the West Indies. Became an Army Physician.
Died of fever whilst taking part in the expedition against
Havannah. He was the 'very good hater,' of fools, rogues
and Whigs, who was such a friend of Dr Johnson. ( D.N.B. )
