College Lecturer in Classics, 1895-1901. On the tutorial staff of 'Wren's' Coaching establishment, 1883-95. Professor of Greek at University College, London , 1892-4. Described by Sir James Frazer as 'one of the finest Greek and Latin scholars of his time.' Published only one work, an edition of the speeches of Isaeus; but contributed many articles to the Classical Review . Lived latterly at Halford, where he died Nov. 29, 1929.
