Took part in founding the C.M.S. 1798 and the Bible Society in 1803.
Expended most of his fortune on philanthropic objects.
Retired, 1825, and resided at Highwood Hill, near Mill Hill.
Married, May 30, 1797, Barbara Ann, eldest dau. of Isaac Spooner, of Elmdon Hall, Warws.
