Collector and man of fashion; also a musician. 'The best dancer and skater of his time...beating all his competitors at gymnastics.' 'A man whose singular felicity it was to excell in everything he put his hand to.' F.S.A. 1777.
Purchased Purley Park, Berkshire , and expended a large sum on its improvement.
J.P. for Berkshire . Died, unmarried, June 28, 1799, at Bristol Hotwells, 'of a deep decline' buried at Purley.
