Resumed the patronymic of Ibbetson after that of Selwin on the occasion of his 2nd marriage. Succeeded his father as 7th Bart., Mar. 20, 1869. Married (1) Jan. 18, 1850, Sarah Elizabeth Copley, eldest dau. of Lord Lyndhurst; (2) July 9, 1867, Eden, dau. of George Thackrah and widow of his cousin Sir Charles Henry Ibbetson, Bart., of Denton Park, Yorks.; (3) Sept. 5, 1900, Sophia Harriet, dau. of Major Digby Lawrell, of Jersey. Died Jan. 15, 1902, in London. Left no issue, and the barony became extinct. Buried at Harlow, Essex.
