A famous cricketer; played for Surrey in 120 matches, 1881-90 and for the Gentlemen v. Players three times, 1885-90. Married (1) Ada Isabel, dau. of J. B. Tickle, of Sydney, New South Wales, and had issue; (2) 1908, her sister, Mabel Edith Hill. Secretary to the Golf Club, Biarritz in 1898. Died in London, aged 91, Aug. 27, 1949.
