Parsons and Co., at Heaton, Newcastle-on-Tyne; and of the Parsons Marine Steam Turbine Co. Ltd. Sometime President, N.E. Coast Institute of Engineers and Shipbuilders. It was chiefly owing to his work that the turbine became the prime mover for the generation of electricity in the largest power stations and for the propulsion of the largest and fastest ships.
