The Times of April 8, 1842, said: 'We fear that he is incorrigible to criticism, but he richly merits its lash for his reiterated offences against good taste and common sense.' Married, 1843, Rachel, youngest dau. of A. Mackenzie, of Bursledon, Hants., and had issue.
