President, Société de Chimie Industrielle de la France. A keen archaeologist and antiquary, making many important discoveries during 30 years' excavation in Egypt. President of the Egypt Exploration Society, 1928-38. Knighted, 1932. Made many great benefactions during his lifetime. Of 9, Cavendish Square, London, W.
