A Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery. Succeeded his father as 5th Baron Lyttelton, Apr. 19, 1876; and his distant kinsman (the last Duke of Buckingham) as 8th Viscount Cobham, 1889. Member of the Royal Commission on London Traffic, 1903-5. Member (1893) and Chairman (1896) of the Royal Commission on Agriculture. A Land Commissioner, 1881-9. Railway Commissioner, 1891-1905. One of the best 'shots' in England, being a member of the famous Holkham team. Died June 9, 1922, at Hagley.
