Called 'Rob-Carrier' from the frequency with which he intercepted communications between London and the North. Escaped to Holland , 1649 . Appointed Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire , 1661, and granted a pension. Died Jan., 1666/7; buried at Windsor [ Berkshire ]. Brother of Ferdinando.
