rejoined, 1867. Professor of English Literature at Bareilly College, 1867-72.
Principal of Muir College, 1872-85. F.R.A.S., 1876. A distinguished
mathematician and a proficient Sanskrit scholar; carried on an enormous
correspondence with former pupils and other native friends. Died of fever,
