House of Commons for the defence of Sir Thomas Rumbold, 1783, and at the bar
of the House of Lords for the E.I.C., 1783, in opposition to Fox's India Bill.
M.P. for Old Sarum, 1784-1802. Chief Justice of the Counties of Brecon,
Glamorgan and Radnor, 1787-1816. Supported Pitt's resolution declaring the
right of Parliament to appoint a Regent, 1788. Attorney-General to the Queen,

Hardsman,' of Byron's Don Juan, XIII. 88, who consoles the prisoners
