Secretary to the board of the S.P.C.K. in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, 1790. Married, May, 1766, Margaret, dau. of Thomas Charters, Minister of Inverkeithing, and had issue. Author, Sacred Biography, a course of lectures on the lives of Bible Characters; Sermons; translations of Lavater's Essays on Physiognomy; The History of London and its Environs, etc. Translated several works from the French.
