Took by Royal Licence the surname of Mann only, in lieu of Cornwallis, Apr. 9, 1814, on inheriting the estate of Linton, Kent, from his maternal uncle, Sir Horace Mann, Bart. Succeeded his father as 5th Earl Cornwallis, etc., June 20, 1824. Married three times. Died s.p.m.s. May 21, 1852, aged 73, at Linton Place, Kent, when all his honours became extinct. (G.E.C., ed.
