Keenly interested in antiquarian and geological pursuits. President of the Royal Institution of Cornwall, 1859-61. Made a special study of the climate of Cornwall, and the diseases of the miners. Married Caroline, dau. of Clement Carlyon, M.D., of Truro, Sept. 28, 1839. Contributed numerous papers on meteorology, etc. to the Journal of the Royal Institution of Cornwall. Died Oct. 20, 1884.
