A keen politician; one of the earliest advocates of the land allotment system.
Married Elizabeth, dau. of Eliab Harvey, Esq., of Claybury Hall, Essex, Oct. 30, 1780.
Mr and Mrs Burgoyne, it is said, received, or might have received, the flitch of bacon, at Dunmow Priory.
