Architect; A.R.I.B.A.; silver medallist, 1883; Pugin Student, 1885; F.R.I.B.A. Special Lecturer in the History of Architecture at the Birmingham School of Art, 1893-; subsequently Director of the School of Architecture. Had a large practice both in ecclesiastical and secular architecture. The churches designed by him included Bishop Latimer Memorial Church and Emmanuel Church, Wylde Green, and St Agatha's Church, Sparkbrook. Awarded the medal of the Birmingham Civic Society, 1923, in recognition of his services to Art. Died Apr. 6, 1938, aged 76, at 'Vespers,' Wadhurst, Sussex.
