Baldwin) the I. Zingari Cricket Club, 1845. Played for Gentlemen v. Players and captained England v. Kent. An excellent actor, and one of the pioneers of the 'Canterbury Week.' Succeeded his brother, John George, as 6th Earl of Bessborough, 1880. Member of the Commission appointed to enquire into the Land System in Ireland, 1880 (known as the Bessborough Commission); its findings led to Mr Gladstone's Land Bill of 1881.
